Description

Yorkshire murder mystery author J R Ellis is sharing his writing secrets at a talk on Saturday 2 November. The retired English teacher says that the setting of his stories among the varied landscapes of the area are important to the tone of his books. His cosy thrillers are not too gruesome or dark, but instead contain humour and are elegantly written. The ongoing series launched in 2017 with The Body in the Dales, when readers were introduced to D.C.I. Jim Oldroyd and his London sidekick for the first time. Since then, crime settings have included Whitby, Harrogate and the Dales, to name but a few. Ellis will read from his books, talk about his inspirations and hold a Q & A with the audience. He's also happy to sign any books you bring along. Tickets are free - just book to reserve a place.
