Geoff Hattersley is from Wombwell and was a leading figure in the huge growth of poetry in South and West Yorkshire in the late 1980s and early 1990s, publishing new poets with his The Wide Skirt magazine and press, and publishing work of his own with Bloodaxe books. A new collection, Instead of an Alibi, has just been published by Broken Sleep Books. In this event in Wombwell Library, Geoff will be in conversation with Ian McMillan about his life and writing, and he’ll read poems old and new.
