A Conversation with Peter Bradley - The Last Train

Join author Peter Bradley as he talks about his book 'The Last Train - A Family History of the Final Solution'. As part of the Holocaust Memorial events at Barnsley Libraries, Peter will be talking about his new book and the family history that inspired it. It was an accident as a child that Peter discovered his father, Fred Bradley was in fact born Fritz Brandes. After his father's death in 2004 he was able to start piecing together his family history including their harrowing journey from Germany to Latvia and finally to Britain. Although some escaped the horrors of the concentration camps, his grandparents did not. Peter tries to understand what lead to his grandparent's fellow citizens putting them on that train and if the anti-Semitic views of the time are still prevalent today. This event is delivered in partnership with Off the Shelf festival and is part of our Holocaust Memorial Day series of talks.
