Teenage Wildlife - dancing stories

Do you have stories or photographs from your youth spent on Eldon Street? As part of their Historic England funded project Teenage Wildlife, The Civic has spent the last six months exploring 70 years of youth culture and teenage experience in the Eldon Street area, by collecting stories and photographs from local people. To celebrate Dancing Town, the Teenage Wildlife team will be sharing some of the dance themed stories they have collected, including collections exploring Mavis Burrows School of Dance, the Ros Wicks Dance School and sixty years of dance performances at The Civic. Photos and ephemera from Barnsley Archives will also be on display. If you have your own Eldon Street dance story or photographs, come along and be interviewed or have your images scanned for the Teenage Wildlife archive. This event is part of the Dancing Town summer festival of dance, delivered by Barnsley Arts and Events and Barnsley Civic in partnership with Barnsley Libraries.
